The Arthur B. Church Collection contains music and programs featured on KMBC and CBS radio. The most unique audio materials document original KMBC radio serials and music programs, most notably The Texas Rangers music library and sixty-five episodes of the time-travelling, historical adventure show Phenomenon.

Digital transfers of these discs are available in the Marr Sound Archives at Miller Nichols Library. Check the MERLIN Library Catalog for more information on these recordings.

KMBC METAL STAMPERS

The vast majority of this original content has been digitized into wav audio files from 16" transcription discs. These discs were originally pressed by electroplated metal stampers using shellac and vinyl compounds as a way to mass produce and distribute syndicated programs to partner radio stations. Here is more information on KMBCs metal stampers and their assistance in the cataloging process.
